Corporate merch for hotels in Spain: staff uniforms, amenities and guest gifts

A working guide for Spanish hotels, resorts and hospitality groups on how to brief staff uniforms, in-room amenities, guest welcome gifts and loyalty-tier boxes — across the standing catalogue, the seasonal refresh and the corporate-event programme.

Spain's hotel sector at a glance

Spain runs over 300,000 hotel rooms across the four-star and five-star segments, plus a long tail of boutique hotels, paradors, beach resorts and rural casas rurales. The big Spanish chains — Meliá, NH, Riu, Barceló, Iberostar, Palladium, Senator, Occidental, H10 — operate globally and run centralised merch programmes from their Madrid or Palma headquarters. International chains — Marriott, Hilton, Accor, IHG, Hyatt — run their Spanish operations through regional offices with a global brand book that the local merch has to follow.

Hotel merch in Spain converges on a few procurement rules. Pantone accuracy — usually Delta-E ≤ 2.5 — because the brand mark on a guest welcome gift has to match the brand mark on the booking confirmation. OEKO-TEX 100 on any textile that touches the guest's skin. Durability to commercial laundering at 60–70°C. And documentation: every invoice carries the IVA 21% breakdown through the hotel's FACe or SII channel.

Staff uniforms — the largest spend

The flagship spend for any Spanish hotel group. A typical four-star hotel runs 100–300 uniform pieces per year per property; a five-star runs 200–500; a large resort runs 800–2,000. The brief usually specifies the brand Pantone to Delta-E ≤ 2.5, OEKO-TEX 100 on skin-contact textiles, durability to commercial laundering, and embroidery placement (chest, sleeve, name tag).

Common uniform items: front-desk and concierge polo or shirt in the brand's signature colour, housekeeping tunic or polo in a complementary colour, F&B server shirt and apron, kitchen whites, engineering overalls, bell-staff uniform, spa therapist tunic. Embroidery on chest and sleeve is the standard; woven labels for the brand's mark on the inside seam are common on premium tiers.

Production lead time for a new uniform programme is 12–16 weeks. Compressing to 6 weeks is possible at a premium, but the Pantone accuracy on the first run is usually tighter. Most hotel groups place a single order for the year and replenish per property from a buffer stock at the supplier's Madrid hub.

In-room amenities

The second-largest spend. Most Spanish hotels run a standing in-room amenity programme — slippers, robes, toiletry bags, vanity kits, shoehorns, laundry bags, shoe-mitts. The amenity programme usually refreshes every 12–24 months to keep the catalogue current; consumable items (slippers, robes) replenish monthly.

Standard amenity set at a four-star: a pair of slippers in terry cotton (€2–€5 per pair), a waffle robe (€15–€30), a cotton laundry bag (€1.50–€3), a printed vanity kit (€2–€4), a shoehorn (€1.50–€3), a shower cap (€0.80–€1.50). Five-star adds a premium bathrobe in heavier terry (€35–€80), a leather-look amenity pouch (€8–€15), and a curated Spanish product set (€15–€40).

All skin-contact textiles require OEKO-TEX 100. Most hotel groups now also require GOTS-certified organic cotton or recycled cotton for the bath linens, and rPET for any plastic components. The certificate number — not the marketing claim — is what ties the merch back to the hotel's annual sustainability report.

Guest welcome gifts

The high-touch tier. Most Spanish five-star hotels and luxury boutique hotels run a welcome gift programme for VIP guests, repeat guests, and loyalty members. The gift is usually a small selection of Spanish products — olive oil, sea salt, Ibérico ham, a curated selection of local products — presented in a branded box or basket.

Common formats: a bonded-wood presentation box with a curated selection of Spanish products (€40–€120 per guest), a leather-look welcome folder with a printed itinerary (€15–€30), a printed welcome card with a small accessory (€8–€15), or a numbered print of a local landmark (€25–€60). The presentation has to feel considered — a printed card, a satin ribbon, a hand-written note from the general manager.

Loyalty programme gifts

Spanish hotel chains run multi-tier loyalty programmes — MeliáRewards, NH Rewards, IHG One Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy — with annual gifts at the silver, gold, platinum and titanium tiers. The gift catalogue is similar to airline loyalty gifts: a leather-look travel wallet, a luggage tag, a passport holder, a premium toiletry bag, and at the top tier, a numbered edition piece.

Corporate events and weddings

Most Spanish hotels run a corporate-event programme — annual general meetings, partner summits, brand launches, weddings, gala dinners. Each event needs a small merchandise element — a printed programme, a gift for the speakers, a welcome pack, a favour for the guests. Volumes are small (50–500 units) but exacting in specification.

Decoration techniques for hotel brand books

Hotel brand books are tight: one or two Pantones, a specific typeface, a defined lock-up that incorporates the property mark or the chain mark. Three decoration techniques hold the brand best.

Embroidery on apparel holds the Pantone over years of wear and commercial laundering. The Meliá green, the NH blue, the Riu yellow, the Barceló red, the Iberostar gold — all hit cleaner in stitch than in print.

Woven labels on the inside seam of premium apparel, robes and amenity pouches — the mark of a considered hotel uniform programme.

Debossing and hot-foil stamping on leather, bonded leather and bonded-wood — for travel wallets, passport holders, presentation boxes. The finish reads as premium and survives the lifetime of the item.

Sustainability and CSRD documentation

Spanish hotel groups reporting under CSRD need a documented trail behind every fibre. GOTS-certified organic cotton for robes, towels and bath linens. OEKO-TEX 100 for skin-contact textiles. GRS-certified recycled polyester for woven labels. rPET for amenity pouches. The certificate number — not the marketing claim — is what ties the merch back to the annual sustainability report and to the GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) criteria the hotel group has signed.

Logistics and tax

Production runs from the Madrid hub reach hotel groups in Madrid, Toledo and Guadalajara next morning via local express. Hotels in Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Palma arrive in 24 hours; the Canarias in 48–72 hours. For multi-property rollouts, we consolidate the order at the Madrid hub and split the delivery per property with a per-property packing list and a daily delivery report.

IVA 21% applies on domestic shipments; intra-community shipments to other EU hotel properties are zero-rated with the corresponding VAT number on the invoice.

FAQ — corporate merch for hotels

How long does a new hotel uniform programme take?

12–16 weeks from fabric sourcing to delivery at the property. Compressing to 6 weeks is possible at a premium, but the Pantone accuracy on the first run is usually tighter. A pilot run of 50–100 pieces is recommended before the full rollout.

Do you replenish in-room amenities on a monthly schedule?

Yes. We hold a buffer stock at the Madrid hub for the most popular amenity items (slippers, robes, toiletry kits, vanity kits) and replenish on a monthly cycle per property. Custom or seasonal items are produced on a 4-week lead time.

Can you split a single order across multiple properties?

Yes. We routinely split a single Spain order across HQ and 1–25 properties with consolidated IVA 21% invoicing. Each property receives a per-property packing list and a daily delivery report.

What is the typical loyalty-tier gift budget?

Silver tier €15–€40 per unit, gold tier €40–€80 per unit, platinum tier €80–€200 per unit. Numbered edition pieces run €200–€500 per unit.

Is Corp-Merch an official supplier of any Spanish hotel chain?

No. Corp-Merch is an independent corporate-merchandise supplier. We have no partnership, sponsorship or official-supplier relationship with Meliá, NH, Riu, Barceló, Iberostar, Palladium, Senator, H10, Marriott, Hilton, Accor, IHG or any other hotel chain operating in Spain. References to those chains describe the market context, not a contractual affiliation.
