What a bill of materials fixes

A bill of materials is the document that stops a quote from turning into an argument three weeks later. It fixes the fabric weight in grams per square metre, the thread count, the closure hardware, the print area, the trims and the packaging, so that the sample your team approved and the cartons that arrive at the Madrid warehouse are the same object. The eight sheets in this section cover the categories that account for most of the volume we ship: bags, hoodies, mugs, notebooks, pens, power banks, t-shirts and tumblers.

Each sheet is written for a buyer who has to defend the cost internally, so it lists components separately from finishing and shows where the margin actually sits. Change the GSM of a hoodie and the cost moves one way; change the trims on a bag and it moves another. Decoration is broken out as its own line, because screen printing, direct to film and embroidery consume very different amounts of setup time. Figures are kept in EUR with the Spanish IVA position noted, and every weight carries the tolerance we actually work to rather than a round marketing number.

The eight specifications in this section

Each page is a working document rather than a brochure page: it names the components, states the acceptable tolerances and ends with the question we ask before production starts. When a specification changes we reissue the sheet and re-date it, so the version in your file always matches the version on the floor.

Questions about the specification sheets

Can we change a component in one of these specifications?

Yes. We reissue the sheet with the change marked, the cost impact quantified and a new date. The revised version replaces the earlier one in your file.

Do the bills of materials include decoration?

Decoration is a separate line so that methods can be compared against the same base product. Screen print, direct to film and embroidery each carry their own setup and unit cost.

Are the tolerances the same for every quantity?

No. The tolerances listed assume the production run you are placing. A larger run holds tighter on colour and stitching than a sample batch does.

Can we get these documents before the first quotation?

Yes. Send the product list with the target quantities and we return the applicable sheets with the quotation, so procurement can compare against a specification you already hold.
