Corporate merch for fashion brands in Spain: drops, press kits and runway gifts
A working guide for Spanish fashion houses, ateliers and DTC labels on how to brief corporate merchandise that holds a Pantone match, ships to a runway week, and reads as part of the brand — not adjacent to it.
The fashion brief is a brand brief, not a promo brief
For most industries, corporate merch is a marketing line item. For fashion, it is closer to a product extension. A gift bag handed out at MBFWMadrid or a tote sold alongside a capsule drop in a Loewe boutique is judged by the same standard as the collection itself: the stitching has to be right, the colour has to be true, and the packaging has to feel inevitable. Anything less reads as off-brand the moment the photograph lands on Vogue España or Hypebeast.
That is why fashion briefs in Spain almost always start with a brand book, a fabric reference and a Pantone chip — not a price list. The supplier's job is to translate that brief into a production plan that holds the colour across the run, the materials across the year, and the format across every channel (runway, retail, e-commerce, press).
The brands that brief well in Spain treat merch as part of the seasonal collection cycle. They share the lookbook at the start of the season, mark the SKU numbers that need merchandise support, and lock the supplier in for the full year. That is the only way to keep the brand consistent across press kits in January, retail openings in April, and capsule drops in September.
The five fashion-merch formats we see most
After a decade of working with Spanish fashion houses — from the big names on Madrid's Serrano to the smaller ateliers in Barcelona's El Born — five formats cover the majority of fashion merch briefs.
Runway gift bags
The front-row gift bag handed out at MBFWMadrid, 080 Barcelona Fashion or a satellite show in Valencia. Typically 150–500 units, each containing 6–10 items from the brand and from co-branded partners. Common contents: a printed silk scarf, a leather card holder, a candle, a fragrance sample, a notebook, a tote. The bag itself is usually cotton canvas or recycled paper, screen-printed in the season's signature Pantone. Lead time: 4–6 weeks because of the co-brand coordination.
Press and influencer kits
Sent to stylists, journalists, influencers and buyers before the show. Smaller than a runway bag (usually 1–3 items), more personal, often shipped directly from the atelier. Common contents: a single hero piece (the scarf, the candle, the leather accessory), a printed lookbook, a handwritten note from the creative director. Shipping has to be discrete and tracked; Correos Express and SEUR both work.
Retail-opening totes and tees
Given to the first 200 customers at a store opening, or sold alongside the capsule drop in the boutique. Heavier unit counts (500–2,000), tighter price points (€8–€25 per unit). Cotton tote bags, organic cotton tees, baseball caps, and a small accessory (a hair tie, a pin, a sticker sheet). Print is the brand mark in the season's Pantone; embroidery on caps and tees if the brand book allows it.
Capsule co-branded collections
The brief that gives a supplier the most headaches. A capsule between two brands — a fashion house and an artist, a fashion house and a winery, a fashion house and a museum — needs both brand books reconciled into a single artwork. Resolution comes from a single sign-off point (the project lead at one of the brands) and a strike-off signed by both. Production in 4–6 weeks; legal review of trademark use can run longer than the production itself.
Store-staff uniforms
The under-appreciated format. Every Spanish fashion house with a flagship on Serrano, Passeig de Gràcia or Marqués de Riscal has a seasonal uniform: a polo or shirt in the season's signature colour, an apron for the floor staff, a name pin. The brief is small in unit count but exacting in execution — the wrong Pantone reads as off-brand within a day of opening.
Materials and decoration that match the brand
Cotton, leather, paper and metal dominate fashion merch in Spain. Each has a decoration method that holds the Pantone best.
Silk-screen on cotton is the workhorse for totes and tees in solid Pantone. We mix the Pantone ink in the Madrid hub and print strike-offs until the colour matches the brand chip on uncoated paper. Solid Pantones hit Delta-E ≤ 2.5 reliably; metallic and fluorescent Pantones need a dedicated run.
Embroidery on apparel — polos, jackets, caps, aprons — gives a tactile finish that the screen cannot match. The downside is a higher unit cost and a minimum of 50 units per design, which is rarely a problem for store-staff uniforms but can be a blocker for capsule drops with very small unit counts.
Debossing on leather and bonded leather — for card holders, travel wallets, presentation boxes — gives a tone-on-tone finish that the fashion press reads as luxury. Hot-foil stamping in gold, silver or copper is the upgrade for capsules and VIP kits.
Letterpress and foil on paper for press kits, lookbooks, hangtags and the printed card inside every gift. Cotton paper at 300 gsm is the standard; recycled kraft at 200 gsm is the sustainable alternative.
Two techniques to be careful with. DTF (direct-to-film) transfer is fast and cheap but the finish reads as plasticky on cotton — fine for capsule drops where the brand wants that look, wrong for a heritage house. Sublimation on cotton fades visibly after three washes; reserve it for polyester scarves and accessories where the dye becomes part of the fibre.
Sustainability in fashion merch
Fashion houses in Spain — particularly the ones reporting under CSRD or facing the EU's ESPR — increasingly need documentation behind every fibre. GOTS-certified organic cotton for apparel and totes. OEKO-TEX 100 for skin-contact textiles. FSC paper for packaging and printed cards. GRS-certified recycled polyester for caps and totes. Recycled cotton and recycled paper for the lower-tier promotional formats.
The supplier's role is to attach a verifiable certificate number to every PO — not just a marketing claim. The certificate ties the merch back to the annual sustainability report and to the disclosures a Spanish fashion house has to file under the Ley 11/2018 on non-financial information. Ask for the certificate, not the slogan.
Spain and EU logistics for fashion drops
Production runs from Madrid and ship to boutiques in Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Bilbao and Valencia via tracked same-day in 24–48 hours. For capsule drops launching simultaneously in Madrid and Milan, the EU-wide road network via Correos Express, SEUR and GLS handles the cross-border leg in 3–5 working days. Customs paperwork (DUA) is filed by the carrier; the supplier provides the commercial invoice and the packing list.
Press kits and influencer drops ship discrete, in unmarked packaging if requested. We work with the press office on a recipient list and a per-recipient tracking number so the team can confirm delivery without ringing the front desk.

FAQ — corporate merch for fashion brands
How far in advance should a fashion brand brief merch?
For runway and capsule drops, 6–8 weeks before the show is the safe lead time — 2 weeks for artwork and Pantone strike-offs, 2–3 weeks for production, 1 week for packing and shipping, 1 week of buffer. Press kits can compress to 4 weeks. Retail-opening totes for a confirmed store date should be locked 5 weeks ahead.
What is the minimum order quantity for a capsule drop?
For screen-printed totes and organic cotton tees, the minimum is 50 units per SKU. Embroidery on apparel starts at 50 units per design. Leather accessories and silk scarves can run from 25 units. Co-branded capsules usually start at 100 units per brand per SKU.
Can you match the brand Pantone within Delta-E 2?
Yes, for solid Pantones on cotton, paper and uncoated surfaces. Metallic, fluorescent and neon Pantones need a confirmation sample because not every ink mixer carries the full PMS range. We send a strike-off on the actual substrate before production; sign-off is required in writing.
Do you handle co-branded legal clearance?
We handle the production and the artwork files; the trademark clearance between the two brands remains a legal matter between them. We can work to a single sign-off point and ship reference samples, but we do not provide legal opinions on trademark use.
Is Corp-Merch an official partner of MBFWMadrid or 080 Barcelona Fashion?
No. Corp-Merch is an independent corporate-merchandise supplier. We are not a sponsor, official supplier or media partner of MBFWMadrid, 080 Barcelona Fashion, Valencia Fashion Week or any other fashion week. References to those events are descriptive of the Spanish fashion calendar, not a partnership claim.
