Corporate merch for craft breweries in Spain: taproom, festivals and beer tourism

A working guide for Spanish craft breweries and brewpubs on how to brief branded glassware, festival merch, beer carriers, taproom souvenirs and brewery-tour kits — without overcommitting to slow-moving stock.

Why craft brewery merch is different from winery merch

Craft brewing in Spain has grown steadily since the 2010s — over 500 active breweries across Madrid, Cataluña, País Vasco, Galicia, Andalucía and the Canarias, with names like Mahou's craft subsidiaries, Estrella Galicia's Hórreo, Dougall's, Laugar, Nómada, Basqueland, Edge Brewing, Cerveses La Gardenia and many smaller operations. Each one has a taproom, a festival calendar, a beer-tourism programme, and a small wholesale arm that needs branded merch.

The brief is tighter than winery merch for two reasons. First, the volumes are smaller — most Spanish craft breweries run 200–2,000 units per SKU rather than the 5,000+ you see at a Rioja estate. Second, the merchandise has to rotate with the seasonals — an IPA tap handle in October is irrelevant in February when the brewery has switched to a stout. The supplier's role is to keep the unit costs low at small runs and to turn around reorders in days, not weeks.

Taproom glassware

The flagship spend for most craft breweries. A tulip glass with the brewery's mark at 33cl or a nonik pint at 56cl — both are standard. Screen-printed glass in the brewery's brand colour, with a fired-in mark that survives commercial glasswashing at 60–65°C. A second firing pass fixes the mark for life; most Spanish breweries insist on the second pass even though it adds 8–12 cents per glass.

Minimum orders for screen-printed glass in Spain start at 144 units per design (two cartons) and run up to 5,000+ units for the brewery's standing pint range. Lead time is 3–4 weeks from artwork approval to delivery; rush runs at +35% surcharge compress to 10 working days.

Festival and event merch

Spain's craft beer festival calendar is dense: Barcelona Beer Festival in March, BirraBeach in Valencia, the Salón de la Cerveza in Madrid, the BBF Birragoza, and dozens of regional fairs. Each festival is a merchandise opportunity — typically a printed cotton tee, a snapback cap, a cotton tote, and a festival-specific glass sold as a souvenir.

Festival briefs usually run 100–500 units per SKU with a 4-week lead time. The supplier's role is to print the festival mark on the standing catalogue items (the brewery's tee, the brewery's cap, the brewery's tote) and add a single festival-specific item (a festival glass, a festival pin, a printed festival programme). After the festival, the standing catalogue items return to the taproom rotation; the festival-specific items stay as a small inventory for latecomers.

Beer carriers and growler packaging

Two formats most craft breweries underuse. The four-pack beer carrier (recycled cardboard, printed in the brewery's Pantone) carries a small cost and reads as a premium product on the shelf. The growler carrier (printed tin or printed neoprene) protects the refillable growler and turns the refill into a more deliberate purchase.

Both formats can be produced at small MOQs (200–500 units) and reordered quickly as the brewery's wholesale arm grows. Cardboard carriers from a Spanish FSC-certified printer run €0.40–€0.80 per unit at 1,000 units; neoprene growler carriers run €2.50–€4.50 per unit at 250 units.

Brewery tour souvenirs

The beer-tourism segment has grown noticeably since 2022, especially in Cataluña, Galicia and the País Vasco. Tourists expect a small souvenir — a brewery-branded glass, a printed coaster set, a branded apron, a small tin of brewery swag. The supplier's role is to keep a small standing inventory of these items at the brewery, replenish monthly, and pack tour groups on demand.

Co-branded merchandise

The brief that gives a craft brewery the most reach. A co-branded merch drop with a local coffee roaster, a local cheesemaker, a local clothing brand, or a local musician extends the brewery's audience without spending on paid media. The drop is usually a single SKU — a printed tote, a co-branded glass, a small accessory — produced at 100–500 units and sold at both venues.

Decoration techniques for brewery brand books

Craft brewery brand books are usually loose — a single Pantone, a hand-drawn mark, an informal typeface. Three decoration techniques hold the brand best on the items that craft brewery briefs tend to use.

Screen-printing on glass for tulip and nonik pint glasses, fired in at 600°C and a second-pass fired for life. The brewery's Pantone hits cleanly on clear and tinted glass; dark backgrounds (black, dark brown) require an underbase white that adds one screen to the print.

Embroidery and screen-printing on apparel — for tees, hoodies, caps, aprons. Embroidery on caps and aprons; screen-printing on tees and hoodies in water-based ink for a soft hand-feel that the craft market expects.

Pad printing on hard goods — for growler carriers, beer carriers, tap handles, keyrings. Pad printing handles curved surfaces and tolerates the recycled-cardboard texture that most craft breweries prefer for sustainability reasons.

Sustainability and CSRD documentation

Spain's craft brewing sector has been an early adopter of sustainability reporting. Most breweries publish an annual sustainability report and many report under CSRD. The merch programme has to align: organic cotton (GOTS-certified) for apparel and totes, recycled cardboard (FSC-certified) for beer carriers and packaging, recycled glass for taproom glassware, and a verifiable certificate trail for every fibre.

Logistics and tax

Production runs from the Madrid hub reach breweries in Madrid, Toledo and Guadalajara next morning. Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and San Sebastián arrive in 24 hours; breweries in Galicia, Sevilla and the Canarias arrive in 48–72 hours. Festival deliveries land at the venue during setup day, usually 24 hours before doors open.

IVA 21% applies on domestic shipments; the brewery receives a per-delivery invoice with the corporate NIF, the line-level descriptions and the IVA 21% breakdown, filed through the brewery's SII channel via FACe.

FAQ — corporate merch for craft breweries

What is the minimum run for screen-printed brewery glassware?

144 units per design (two cartons). Lower MOQs are technically possible but the per-unit cost rises sharply. For festival-only runs, 100-unit minimums can be arranged at a premium.

How long does a festival merch brief take?

Standard 4 weeks from artwork approval to delivery at the festival venue. Rush runs at +35% surcharge compress to 10 working days for screen-print on apparel; glass takes 3 weeks minimum.

Can you handle small reorders during the festival season?

Yes. We hold a buffer stock of the brewery's standing catalogue (te, cap, tote, glass) at the Madrid hub and replenish on a 5–7 working day cycle.

Do you ship growler carriers and refillable packaging?

Yes. We supply printed tin growler carriers (250-unit MOQ) and printed neoprene growler sleeves (250-unit MOQ). Recycled cardboard four-pack carriers run from 500 units.

Is Corp-Merch an official supplier of any Spanish brewery?

No. Corp-Merch is an independent corporate-merchandise supplier. We have no partnership, sponsorship or official-supplier relationship with Mahou, Estrella Galicia, Dougall's, Laugar, Nómada, Basqueland, Edge Brewing, Cerveses La Gardenia or any other Spanish craft brewery. References to those breweries describe the market context, not a contractual affiliation.
