Modern slavery and supply-chain ethics

How Corp-Merch.ES Spain prevents forced labour, trafficking and exploitation across our supply chain.

Risk-based due diligence

Our group publishes an annual modern-slavery statement aligned with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 section 54. The statement covers structure, supply chains, policies, risk assessment, due diligence, KPIs and training. Risk mapping is performed annually using ITUC Global Rights Index, Verisk Maplecroft data and our own audit history. High-risk categories — cotton from certain regions, electronics assembly, dyeing — receive enhanced due diligence including unannounced audits.

Audit, remediation and termination

100% of tier-1 partners have signed the supplier code (see Sustainability section). 78% hold a current Sedex SMETA 4-pillar audit, BSCI or equivalent. Findings related to forced or child labour are classified as zero-tolerance: confirmed cases trigger immediate termination plus remediation support (severance, repatriation costs where applicable). We do not believe in cut-and-run remediation that leaves workers worse off, so we work with NGO partners on safe exit and re-employment.

EU and national frameworks

In addition to the UK MSA, we monitor compliance with the German LkSG (Supply Chain Due Diligence Act), the EU CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive) being transposed across member states including Spain, the EU Forced Labour Regulation 2024/3015, and US Section 1502 (Dodd-Frank) for conflict minerals. National anchors include Spain labour code and human-rights instruments overseen — for personal data of victims/workers — by the AEPD — Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (Spanish DPA).

FAQ

Where can I read your modern-slavery statement?

On the group trust page, signed by a director and refreshed each year by June 30.

What if I suspect modern slavery in your chain?

Report immediately to [email protected] or our SpeakUp portal. Whistleblower protection applies.

Do you audit beyond tier-1?

Yes for risk-flagged categories. We map tier-2 for cotton (gin level) and electronics (assembly and key components).

How do you verify worker voice?

Beyond formal audits, we use anonymous worker-voice surveys in 12 languages on a sample of partners; results feed into the next risk map.

Are you CSDDD ready?

Our largest group entities will be in scope; we have aligned policies, risk-management, complaints and reporting to be ready ahead of the 2027 first-applicability waves.
